Texas Financial Transparency
Cass County is dedicated to serving its citizens by excelling in all areas of service, financial responsibility, and transparency of actions. It is the vision of the Commissioners Court of Cass County to provide the public with complete financial disclosure concerning the Budget, Annual Financial Report, Check Register, Tax Rate and outstanding Debt.
Transparency Stars recognizes local government entities that provide easy online access to important financial data.
The Texas Comptroller’s office launched the Transparency Stars program in March 2016 to recognize cities, counties and school districts making important strides to greater government transparency. Local government entities can apply for stars in the areas of:
° Traditional Finances
° Contracts and Procurement
° Economic Development
° Public Pensions
° Debt Obligations
The State of Texas, State Comptroller's office official page on Financial Transparency is a one-stop source to collect all available information on local government finances in our state, including the existing and proposed debt of cities, counties, school and hospital districts and hundreds of special-purpose districts throughout Texas.
